Staying true to its vision of bringing the best wireless communication network to its subscribers, Verizon has created ties with best mobile phone manufacturers like Palm, Motorola, LG, Samsung, Nokia and Sony Ericsson. Among its more innovative offerings is VZ Navigator, a GPS navigation application. Using the terrestrial tower signal sites instead of the GPS satellites, the service acts in the same manner as a standalone GPS unit. Additionally, subscribers can locate businesses like a restaurant or store, by searching via category or business name. After typing an address, users receive detailed directions to their destination. Some Verizon phones include Palm Treo 755p/700w/700p and Palm Centro, HTC Touch, Blackberry Storm 9530, Blackberry Pearl, Motorola Krave ZN4, LG enV2 VX9100, LG Dare and Samsung OMNIA.

Using CDMA, Verizon phones do not have a SIM card. But this does not mean that they could not be sold or bought secondhand. With used Verizon phones, it's these are generally not locked and can be reprogrammed manually or over the air when switching to another service provider.
