Boost Mobile is a phone service company launched in Australia in 2000. The following year, it was introduced in the United States. In 2003, Nextel (now Sprint Nextel) purchased the American division of Boost Mobile, and by the first quarter of 2007, it had four million subscribers.

This service, however, was initially limited to the home calling area of the subscriber. Early this year, Boost Mobile launched Nationwide Unlimited for a flat fee of $50 enabling subscribers to avail of the unlimited talk, text, and wireless web anywhere in the United States.
